Dit schattige, blauwe bloemetje heeft 2 quasi treurige eigenschappen: de bloemtrosjes in de knop staan met gebogen kopjes en de de bloemetjes laten door de lange, hangende stampers net een traantje. Door de snelle groei bloeien ze snel na zaaien.
