Deze moeilijk te verkrijgen plant is zeer geschikt voor de siertuin. Ze heeft opvallend blad, bloeit fraai paarsblauw (en relatief lang) waardoor ze zich eenvoudig laat combineren.

Zaai-instructies: feb-apr. Geef koudebehandeling. Kiemt in 6-12 maanden bij 15-18 Celsius.

Plant-instructies: Bodem moet niet te droog zijn. Zon of halfschaduw.

Description:

This hard to find plant is very suitable for the ornamental garden. It has remarkable, swordlike leaves, has baroque purplish blue flowers and flowers relatively long. This makes it a perfect combination with lots of other plants.

Hardy in: zones 4-10 (-20 Celsius)

Sowing instructions: Sow from late winter to spring. For best results the seeds should be pre-chilled before sowing. To do this sow the seeds just below the surface of any good compost. Seal the seeds and container inside a polythene bag and place in a fridge (not freezer) for 3 weeks. Then place in a temperature of 15-18C. Germination should take 6-12 months, after this the bag can be removed.

Planting instructions: Sun or partial shade. Soil must not be too dry.
