De kogelronde vrucht heeft een ruwe buitenkand en verspreidt een kenmerkende zeeplucht. Er wordt een bruine kleurstof van gemaakt. De noot is zeer smakelijk.

 

Zaai-instructies: Maak de noot voorzichtig open. Zaai in herfst, zet buiten. Kiem in voorjaar.
