Groenbladig in rozet groeiend type oosterse kool. Kan zowel jong als uitgegroeid worden gegeten. Dit is een vrij winterharde soort. Jong blad is heerlijk pittig door de sla!

Plant-instructies: Houd onkruidvrij en geef regelmatig water. Halfschaduw. Pluk regelmatig wat blaadjes van de plant om jong blad te stimuleren.

Description:
Known as "Tah Tsai" in China, Tatsoi is among the most popular of oriental greens. It is an open heart oriental mustard with spoon shaped, thick, dark green leaves which are not only full of flavor, but very tender. Tatsoi is very high in calcium and vitamins. It has a wide variety of culinary uses that range from using the leaves raw in salads, in soups and in stir-fries.

Sowing instructions: Sow Mar-Sep outdoors, Oct-Feb under glass and all the year round on the windowsill. Sow thinly, 13mm deep in pots of multipurpose compost on the windowsill, larger containers on the patio, or sow in drills 23 cm apart in the garden.

 

Planting instructions: Matures from seed in only 45 days and can even be harvested from beneath snowmaking it one of the best vegetables to grow in a cool climate. If sown in the garden keep weed free and water well during dry periods. Harvest a few leaves from each plant regularly.
