Zelden aangeboden kuip- of kamerplant. Groot, glanzend, donkergroen blad en lepelvormige schijnbloemen rondom een “knots” waarop de feitelijke bloemen zitten.

Zaai-instructies: Kiemt in 1-15 wk, 18-23C. Afdekken met verticuliet.

Plant-instructies: Licht, maar niet in de zon. Vochtig, niet nat.

Description: A native of the rain forests of Guyana, Jamaica, the West Indies and Suriname, this is a tropical evergreen peace lily rarely in cultivation. It is a robust species with large, glossy, lance-shaped leaves of dark green with sunken leaf veins. Each flower has a spoon-shaped green spathe surrounding a knobby white spadix. The flowers may bloom year round if growing conditions are favorable but are most prevalent from early spring to summer.

Sowing instructions: Set the seeds on top of the soil and then sprinkle a light layer of vermiculite over them. Don’t bury them, but lightly cover. Cover the pot with a piece of glass or plastic wrap and give it bright, but filtered sunlight.

Planting instructions: Bright indirect light, high humidity and evenly moist but well-drained soil or potting mix are required for good growth. Water and fertilize regularly, but refrain from over-watering or over-feeding as both can damage root and foliage health.
