A small, lily-like plant native to Australia that produces clusters of bright green, flax-like leaves and tall panicles with small blue flowers, followed by attractive blue to purple fruits. Dianella tasmanica makes a great, low maintenance ground cover for the temperate garden.

Sowing instructions: The optimum germination temperature for germination is around 18-22 Celsius for this species. Seed germinate readily, however they do have a hard outer coating which is impervious to water and generally germination will normally not occur unless the seed is scarified by abrading or pre-treated with boiling water first.
