This excellent specimen plant will grace any pond with its tall, sturdy stems crowned with attractive sprays of umbrella-like leaves and delicate feathery seeds. It is by far the most ornamental member of this family. It is very slightly tender so the crown of the plant should remain below the water line during winter to protect it from ice damage. In cooler climates it is better grown in a container.

Sowing instructions: Sow indoors, February-March, in trays or pots of seed compost. Do not cover the seeds, but press gently into the surface. Keep compost moist. A clear propagator lid or sheet of glass over the pot or tray is ideal. Maintain a temperature of 15-21 Celsius.
