De bloemen zijn slank en kleurig fleurig: geel met een rood uiteinde. Na de bloei ontstaan de fraaie zaadvruchten.

 

Zaai-instructies: kiem in 3-6 wk, 20-25 C. Zaden lichtjes afvijlen helpt.

Plant-instructies: humusrijke grond in volle zon.

Description:

A rare plant and one of the very few cannas which is both attractive and can be easily grown from seed. An almost endless procession of delicate red-tipped yellow flowers is produced, each of which forms a most intriguing inflated seed pod. This grows numerous hairy appendages which finally fall off to signify that the large, rock-hard, black seeds are ripe.

Hardy in: zones 9-10 (5 Celsius)

Sowing instructions: seeds will usually germinate in 21-60 days, even under good conditions germination may be erratic. Saoking and/or scarifying the seeds may help. Sow seeds about 6mm deep in a peaty seed sowing mix at about 22 Celsius.

Planting instructions: rich soil in full sun.
