Klimplant uit de komkommerfamilie. Vreemdgevormde vruchtjes met zachte stekels. Kan in korte tijd een schutting bedekken.

 

Zaai-instructies: Kiemin 2-3wk, 20-30C. Leg zaden op hun zijkant.

Plant-instructies: Beschut, halfschaduw, niet droog.

Description: Vine that belongs to the cucumber family. Small, white flowers result in strange little fruits with soft spines. They are not edible. A very vigorous grower that can cover a small building.

Sowing instructions: Sow Feb-Mar.Germinate in 7.5cm pots at 20-30 Celsius on the surface of a good freedraining, damp seed compost. Apply a layer of compost or vermiculite, 1cm deep.Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag until aftergermination which takes 7-10 days.

Planting instructions: Trainalong wire, allowing the main shoot to reach the tip. Pinch out growing pointand allow two shoots to trail downwards. Keep moist but not wet. Apply shadingas required and provide a humid atmosphere by regularly spraying or dampingdown pathways.
