Dikke stelen met grote hanekam. De kleur is felrose. Teelt in de kas is ook succesvol. Geschikt als snij- en droogbloem. Heeft ook medicinale toepassingen.

Description:

Celosia is a showy, fast-growing annual with hot pink flowers, lasting up to two months. They make excellent cut flowers. Raise celosia in a greenhouse or a conservatory in cool climates. Has fan-shaped, rippled flower heads that resemble coral. Its tender leaves are edible and the plant has some medicinal uses.

Hardy in: zones 9-12 (5 Celsius)

Sowing instructions: Sow seeds in pots or trays of moist seed compost. Do not cover the seed. Place in a propagator or warm place, and keep at a constant temperature of between 24-27C. After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 14 to 21 days.

Planting instructions: For best results, provide a rich, well-drained soil in full sun.
