Beschrijving: Klimplant Zeer winterharde klimmer met een flinke groeikracht. De zoete vruchtjes zijn veel kleiner dan de grote broer en de schil is onbehaard. Ze hebben een nog hoger vitamine C-gehalte dan de gewone kiwi. Geeft al vanaf het 2e jaar de eerste (bescheiden) oogst! Hoogte: 350 cm. (na 10 jaar) Bloeit: mei-jun Type: HP Winterhard in: zones 2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 (-30 Celsius) Zaai-instructies: Zaai in jan-feb. Kieming vindt plaats in 20-30 dagen bij 20 Celsius. Lichtkiemer, dus zaad slechts lichtjes afdekken. Indien geen kieming plaatsvindt, het zaaisel een koudebehandeling geven. Plant-instructies: Gemiddelde waterbehoefte. Geen bijzondere eisen aan de grond. Moet regelmatig gesnoeid worden: ?s winters tot op 8-10 knoppen en ?s zomers extreem lange uitlopers inkorten. -------------------------------------- Description: A vigorous, fast-growing, deciduous, woody vine that can fill a trellis in no time. Grown for its foliage and edible fruit. Foliage is a lustrous dark green throughout the growing season. Flowers are slightly fragrant and greenish white, but are not particularly showy since they are largely hidden by the foliage. Smooth-skinned kiwi fruits ripen in early fall and are the size of a large grape. It tastes similar to, though slightly sweeter than, its larger-fruited relative, the true kiwi. Height: 350 cm. Normally will only germinate with light so cover the seeds only slightly. Sow in a well drained seed sowing mix at about 20 Celsius. Can also be winter-sowed. Planting instructions: Grow in average, medium moisture, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Planting in infertile soil may temper somewhat rapid growth habit. Needs frequent pruning, including an annual winter pruning of each stem back to 8-10 buds and an annual summer pruning of excessively long shoots.
