Beschrijving:

Zogenaamde vergeten groente. Het zijn de wortels van deze plant die in de winter worden geoogst en gegeten.

Winterhard in: zones 5-6-7-8-9 (-15 Celsius)

Zaai-instructies: Zaai op rijen, 1 cm diep en 20 cm uit elkaar. Dun na kiemen uit. Niet in natte grond zaaien.

Plant-instructies: Grond moet goed rul zijn en zonder stenen.

Description:

Scorzonera is easy to grow, although it needs a long growing season. However, it is completely hardy and should be sown as soon as the ground is sufficiently warm and dry in March, to be harvested from October onwards (it benefits from being frosted). The roots can be left in the ground until needed.

Sowing instructions: Sow the seeds in drills 1 cm, deep spacing the rows 20 cm apart. On cold, heavy soils the ground should be warmed and dried by covering it with cloches some three weeks before sowing.
